It’s challenging times for performers and venues as once again the city’s mask mandates are in effect. Hopefully, the measures will mean that #numbers will go down, and we can all have a relatively fun Mardi Gras. The shows that we’ve been to recently have also all been doing an absolutely stellar job of maintaining safe and healthy protocols in ways that mean people can still come out and have a great time. It means extra work, but New Orleans’ show producers, performers, service industry folk and many venue owners are really stepping up, and it’s impressive to see.
This also means that there’s a reassuringly strong showing for this week’s events. Highlights include a benefit tonight that features some of the city’s best and boldest, a couple of regular big hitters in the shape of Roll For Seduction and The Psychedelic Speakeasy, and the very welcome return of Laveau Contraire (pictured) with drag contest Triple Threat. These and the rest of the week’s delights can all be found right here!
Shows are still subject to last minute changes, so do check in with specific happenings to make sure everything is still, er, happening. Speaking of, there are still tickets left for the rescheduled KS Party, which we hope can happen as safely as possible in a few weeks! More info here - hope to see you there!
Hope you’re all enjoying those king cake comas, and we’ll see you with more sweet nightlife options next time. Much love,
