Festival season is in full flow, even before the Jazz Dads arrive in town. As well as events like the Giant Puppet Fest and NOLA Poetry festival this week, there’s the unmitigated sauce of Hump Fest, the Dan Savage-curated erotic film festival, this Friday and Saturday at the Broad Theater. There’s also well over 50 burlesque, drag and cabaret shows to check out - find your seven day diary right here.
Also this week we review the glitzy pop rollercoaster of Baz Lurhmann’s Moulin Rouge, which plays at The Saenger through Sunday. Read our review here.
New Orleans has been up on screen quite a bit since the lockdown, our sister publication Out All Day has a run down of the city’s star turns. Read that list here.
We’re looking to expand both Up All Night and Out All Day, take on writers, get out to more shows to review them, commission more locals to create for us. With that in mind, next week we’ll be running a silent auction as part of a fundraising effort, so please look out for that. Over 3,000 of you read UAN each week, and for that we’re sincerely grateful - a heartfelt thank you for your support.
Until next time, have a wonderful week. As always, much love.
