A week of burlesque, drag and cabaret in NOLA
Before we get into this week’s NOLA nightlife, we have some news! If you’re also a day walker, then you might be interested in our NEW sister site, Out All Day: New Orleans. It’s a free weekly newsletter with everything from dining out to culture and the arts, and it has an updated listings diary coming out every Wednesday. Sign up this week and you’ll go into a FREE draw for a $50 restaurant voucher! As a taster, we loved the very sexy production of As You Like It running at the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival right now. Hope to see you over there!
Even back in the twilight hours, the temperatures are brutal this week, so head for some air conditioning and a solid line-up of evening entertainment. Those wonderful Prettie Bois return, the beloved 80s Dance Party lives on at One Eyed Jacks and there’s everything from Feys Gone Wild to Vampyre Cabarets to distract you from the heat. Your full week of nightlife is right here.
It’s a sad week for the NOLA burlesque scene as we (geographically) lose one of our favourite people, Remy Dee (pictured), who is decamping our hallowed city limits to begin a new chapter. We hate to see her go, but we’ve uploaded a photo tribute to her many amazing looks - you can remind yourself of her many talents and maybe throw a final virtual dollar or two to her to help her on her way.
We’ll see you next time! Don’t forget to give our new site a quick look for daytime diversions, and in the meantime, stay cool, and much love to you wherever you are.
